You know, we have all gotten a lot of hell on this earth. Too fat. too skinny. too ugly. not good enough. the wrong clothes. the wrong music. the wrong lifestyle. the wrong choices. But do we ever stop to think about the fact that if it wasn’t for all those flaws, we wouldn’t be who we are today? Every single day, we face the reality that no matter how much we try to perfect ourselves, it’s still going to be wrong to somebody. But at the same time, why do we keep pushing it if it makes us unhappy? We need to face the fact that no matter what we look like, what size we are, who we date, who we worship or don’t worship, we are who we are, and that should be good enough. The past is the past and this is the present.

Every day, we are given a new chance to forgive ourselves and move on. No, we will never forget, but we can at least give ourselves the peace of mind that we are individuals that can do anything we set our mind to. We aren’t going to be happy if we don’t put it behind us and start looking at the full half of the glass. It’s not easy. But It’s acheivable.

I highly recommend watching these two videos. the second one changed my life. it’s so…true. You really ARE more than the choices that you made.

So...A Blog, Eh?

Soo..im assuming this is a blog? Well fine and dandy, because I have a lot to say. First of all, lets start with the basics and I’ll tell you a little bit about myself.

1. My name is Melanie West, but everyone i know calls me Melly, mainly because its also easier to spell.

2. I am 19 years old, but i get told i look as young as 15 or 16. Is that a bad thing? I really have no idea :P

3. I work as a Telephone Sales Representative. For those of you that are confused by what that means, I’m a telemarketer. But I make pretty good money for just being minimum wage. I get paid 8.50 an hour plus comission.

4. Im not thin. This tends to be a hinderance, because i get to deal with crap every day because of it.

5. I love music. All types. Currently, my favorite band is Sleeping with Sirens. love love love <3 I am a photographer, as well as a poet. later on, You will see some of my work. feel free to let me know what you think.

6. I live in a small town in Ohio. bleh :P

7. My mom died last year (May 1st, 2010…rip </3) due to drug overdose. As to why she wanted to end her life, I’ll never know. but i miss her. My dad isnt exactly doing the greatest either. Not in the mood to get into detail right now.

8. I graduated in June of 2011 from Indian Valley High School in Gnadenhutten Ohio.

when i was a little girl, me and my neighbor would blow up a little baby swimming pool and put it in the bigger blow up pool that had water in it. then him and i would sit in the ‘boat’ and play pirates sailing on the sea :)
